2013 Annual General Meeting
The AGM for the club took place last night with a good attendance to witness proceedings. It was slightly unusual in that it was the second of the year due to changing the financial year for the club. The officials’ reports summarising the last year’s activities were warmly received and it is comforting to know that the club’s finances are healthy enough not to require any increase in subs this year. There was quite a discussion on exhibitions and attracting new members (the Ridings exhibition was particularly successful from all points of view) and this will be revisited by the committee in the coming year. All officers were re-elected with the exception of Bill Mahoney, Competitions Secretary, who is standing down this time. Bill was thanked for his efforts particularly for introducing the new software for managing the competitions. Bob Gibson will be taking his place as Competitions Secretary. In recognition of his 27 years of membership and 10 years serving as Treasurer the club bestowed life membership on Trevor Bottomley – well done Trevor and thank you. The subjects for the online competitions for 2014 were set and as soon as these are put in order and agreed they will be on the website. The full minutes of the meeting will be published as soon as they have been agreed and you will be able to find them on the committee pages.
