The subject for the March online competition was “Spring” which given the winter weather posed an interesting challenge but as always our members rose to the occasion. The judge, Peter Wells, has certainly sprung into action. He says;
Another interesting selection of images from our members.
In first place this month is “Tulip Time”. A very clever imaginative image with lovely colours. The clock face overlay is very subtle and gives a very pleasing result. One can imagine this being a poster on the wall. Well done!
In second place is “Spring flowers”. Another imaginative interpretation of the subject with great exposure control. It might even edged into first had the author made some attempt to clone out what looks like a lump of blue tack in the left hand coil.
In third place this month is the simplest of all the images, “Daisy”. A very simple but effective composition with a lovely wood frame on two sides and the background well out of focus yet leaving the impression of a field of other flowers. Just a shame that the whites on many of the petals has been blown out due to over exposure.
Congratulations for this month go to Sally Sallet, Nigel Hazell and John Upson
